# 60708: Phone record number not found

Log Type: APPLICATION

Log Level: WARNING

## Description

Twilio could not find the DNS record for the phone number you tried to update or delete. This warning means the phone number record referenced by your request was not found for that operation.

### Possible causes

* The DNS provider did not find the phone number record you tried to update or delete.
* The phone number record was already removed, so there is no active record left to update or delete.
* The request used the wrong phone number identifier. Twilio requires the `sid` path parameter to identify the IncomingPhoneNumber resource for update and delete requests.
* The phone number is not present in the account inventory you are managing. Twilio lists IncomingPhoneNumber resources for numbers you provision, port, or host.

### Possible solutions

* Confirm that the phone number record still exists before retrying the request.
* If you are using the API, fetch the IncomingPhoneNumber resource first and verify that you are using the correct `PN` SID in the request path.
* Review your active phone number inventory and make sure you are updating or deleting a number that belongs to the correct account.
* If you are releasing a hosted number, use the IncomingPhoneNumber delete flow only for an active hosted number record. After release, Twilio retires the hosted number from the system.
