# Email Authentication

Technical standards to help internet service providers (ISPs) and other receivers validate the identity of an email sender. Three authentication standards are in use:

* [Sender ID](/docs/glossary/sender-id/) developed by Microsoft
* [DKIM](/docs/glossary/dkim/) developed by Yahoo!.
